Restorative Day starting 21st January 2021
near Pomona
Recovery from Domestic and Family Violence can feel overwhelming and confusing, and sometimes not possible. How do we even begin the journey of healing after such trauma?
Restorative days give an opportunity to exit every day life and to feel safe in a relaxed environment.
Through creative expression we heal trauma without re-experiencing the trauma.
Through nature, meditation, collage, guided drawing, painting, and soul collage, our unconscious assists healing without our heads getting in the way.
Through self awareness and self expression we rediscover self worth, self esteem, and self confidence.
Sinking into comfy lounges, snoozing, being still and soaking up the beautiful vista all aid the road to recovery.
Lunch is simple and delicious with fruit and veggies fresh from the garden or locally sourced. Clean, healthy eating - all part of overall wellness.
Tea and coffee is always available. Please advise us of any special dietary requirements.

Healing through creative expression and women's circle
starting 27th January 2021
in Gympie
This program meets once a fortnight and uses creativity to bring about healing. Evidence indicates that expressive arts can heal without re-entering into the vortex of trauma. Through expressive arts, participants work through unconscious patterns, altering their perceptions positively to make their individual visions possible, rebuild their "inner" gardens, and bring about healthy happier interior worlds, with the support of the facilitators and their fellow participants.
We begin on 14th October. Location is given upon registration for safety reasons.

Each person is given all the materials required to create their own masterpiece that will then come into community with the other pieces. When finished, the art piece can be moved around to any space to bring awareness of domestic violence to the neighbourhood .

This is a two and a half day weekend retreat, starting on a Friday evening, ending on a Sunday afternoon. It can be residential or non-residential. Shibori hearts Tie dye
This is a wonderful one day retreat that allows women to connect with their hearts by creating beautiful hearts through different Shibori techniques. Using old Japanese techniques to create different styles and shapes before dying the cloth or tee shirts, creativity flourishes.
Guided Drawing
This is a two and a half day weekend retreat, starting on Friday night, ending on Sunday afternoon. Guided drawing works through haptic perception, the language of the hands. Through the intuitive connection with the body, guided drawing helps to unlock unconscious trauma and setbacks safely, and assists with the process of feelings, felt sensations, allowing healing and healthy integration.
Body Language Project
This Art Workshop gives participants the opportunity to use art as an outlet to express what they feel inside. The use of plaster torsos, made by the participants from moulds and plaster, helps them create an external expression of their personal journey in a way that is emotional, honest and often thought provoking. Each artwork is unique, as each person is unique. It gives the individual a process whereby they can develop and expand on an initial theme through to its completion, enabling them to experience a sense of identity and ownership expressing what they feel on the inside, on the outside of their Art torso. The participants also learn vital skills such as team work, compassion for others, inner strength and confidence. Through art they find their voice. This is a 4 day program specifically designed for DV survivors, one day a week for 4 weeks and is available for 4-10 participants. This program is facilitated by the designer of the program. It has proven to be a very provocative and healing workshop for DV survivors.
"Many Hands" and "Moving One Step Forward" Workshops

It takes many hands to make a community and we all need to keep moving forward, one step at a time. The workshops either focus on the individual’s foot or hand to make an art piece that represents connection and integration.
These workshops are 3 days in length, for 4-10 participants.

This workshop explores positive affirmation and provides each participant with something they can see everyday to inspire and lift their spirits using art as a positive motivator. In this workshop they are also taught skills in graffiti, creative writing, graphics and different paint effects. The end result enables them to experience a sense of identity, ownership and pride in their piece of word art. This program is facilitated by the designer of the program. Trainings
Women’s Circle Training
We believe that within 36 months, we will have DV survivors keen to take the circle work into their own communities, or further afield in rural areas in the Wide Bay location. We would like to offer a 4 day training to ensure that they have a solid platform and supervision as they step out into the greater community.
Holding Space Retreat
The term used today, “Holding Space” is a relatively new, though the idea comes from very old contemplative practice. The most prominent person in the field today is happy to come to Australia to offer her services at a community rate for DV survivors, educators, and people working in the DV sector. It is a deep, transformative four day retreat, both residential and non-residential. This retreat could be offered every 2-3 years and available for anyone involved in the DV community, survivor or support.
