I love helping women to find their own voice. I work with those in crisis, bullied or affected by domestic abuse. Having studied and worked in the fields of depth and transpersonal and somatic psychology, I can offer holistic, alternative therapies and education. Creating a safe space for women to learn how to honour themselves is both humbling and a privilege.
Inspired by fun, creative & participatory group processes and the effectiveness of learning by doing, Dan has been engaging culturally diverse groups in Permaculture since 2003. Dan and business partner Aaron Sorensen developed the 2016 nationally awarded ‘Living Classroom Program', engaging young people from K to year 12 in life long learning through a school Permaculture program. His passion is to find healing and connection through the garden.
For approximately 15 years I have supported adults and families in various settings with experiences of domestic violence, sexual assault, separation and personal crisis. I have learnt the importance of care, connection and collaboration in my integrative counseling approach. It is a privilege to help survivors of domestic and family violence regain hope and look forward to a future with safety.
As a psychologist, my focus is working with individuals on the challenges we face as human beings: of developing and fully expressing our own unique individuality while respecting differences and connecting in a meaningful way in relationship with ourselves, with others and with the world around us. Implicit in this is understanding and engaging in dynamics of power as empowerment rather than as unequal balance of power. Connection through our humanity is a gift to be nurtured.
Art has a gentle, amazing way of healing and empowering those who cannot express themselves through words. My purpose is to inspire and encourage new experiences in a safe, artistic space, and to be a bridge to connect people with their inner creative self using Art as their voice. ❤️
Having 25 years experience in crisis support and group facilitation, focusing on counseling processes and development through self-awareness, has highlighted the resilience and possibilities of the human spirit. Drawing on my own personal journey and being honoured to support so many in recovery from domestic and family violence, I hope to support wellness into the future.
I am a visual artist and enjoy many forms of communicating. My first language is colour. It is an honour and privilege to work with the folk I do - including sex-workers, politicians, groups and teams, families, young and older folk and LGBTQIA communities. Basically … humans. ( I enjoy animals too) .. offering us more options and better and more true ways to communicate - both hear and speak our truth. I love connecting to conflict for what it has to offer us. I am an experienced NVC mediator and a trained facilitator and a certified trainer with the Centre for Nonviolent Communication and a Team Animator for www.playinthewild.org – initiations into Nonviolence for youth, families and educators.
I have facilitated a diverse range of women’s groups and actively support the development of women’s crisis and health services. My primary focus of work has been with children and families assisting them to go deeper into their stories. I use a range of body based and expressive therapies to assist individuals to connect with their feelings, intuition, body wisdom and inner knowledge thus focusing on individual’s strengths either through group processes, counseling or education.
